Our Story

Isaeus Design is founded by the Swedish couple Estelle Isæus-Berlin and Leonard Isæus-Berlin. Shaped by distinct backgrounds and a lifelong appreciation of art, culture and design, their shared vision brings together influences from Sweden's west and east coasts to create a distinctive and contemporary perspective on interiors and collecting.

Every piece we offer is chosen for its character, craftsmanship and history – objects and timepieces made to be lived with, and one day passed on.

Isaeus Heritage

Our name carries the legacy of Magnus Isæus – architect, designer and professor – one of the defining figures of Swedish architecture and applied art in the late 19th century.

Trained at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Magnus Isæus became one of Stockholm's leading architects. Together with Carl Sandahl he created Sturebadet, inspired by the Ca' Vendramin Calergi in Venice, the Florentine-style Skandia building at Mynttorget and the Norstedt building on Riddarholmen.

He designed Sweden's pavilions at the world's fairs in Vienna, Philadelphia and Paris – his Swedish School House from 1876 still stands in Central Park, New York – and from 1882 he was professor at the Royal Institute of Technology.
